A variety of hands-on techniques
are used to restore muscle and connective tissue to
its natural state. Deep tissue work can restore flexibility
and functionality to the muscles and remove pain. Despite
the word “deep,” this work can be done gently
and slowly—allowing the muscle tissue to soften and
relax, and the therapist’s hands to sink into
the tissue. It does not require a heavy handed, painful
experience. (Although in cases of specific, clinical
work, some discomfort may be experienced as sore and
tender tissues are addressed.)
